Vygo is a mobile platform that helps university students achieve better grades by connecting them with peer tutors who have aced their exact classes.
Students can also register as tutors for their previous subjects and become their own boss.
Vygo also provides general tutoring services in English, Writing, Math, Science and Business as well as writing feedback on assignments both online and in-person.
The name “Vygo” originates from psychologist Lev Vygotsky who introduced the zone of proximal development—the space in which a learner will benefit from guidance. Read more about his theory here.
Founded by friends and peers Ben Hallett, Joel Di Trapani and Steven Hastie in 2016, the app has a presence on campus at the University of Queensland, Griffith University and Queensland University of Technology and Monash University, with many other expansions in the works.
